Sonic Debris is a Norwegian progressive hard-rock band formed in 1996. Their debut album, Velvet Thorns, was released on the Dutch label DVS Records in 2000. After playing a series of concerts in Norway, Sweden, and the Netherlands—including the ProgPower festival—the band decided to take a break to focus on other projects.
Sonic Debris reunited in 2007 with two new members: Jan Roger Sletta (ex-Surferosa) and Daniel Marken (ex-Dunderbeist). In 2008, ten new tracks were recorded at Hamar Recordings and later mixed by Alex Møklebust (Seigmen/Zeromancer). The album Day for Night was released in September 2010 and is described as electro-hard-rock, drawing inspiration from NIN, Marillion, Missing Persons, Depeche Mode, and Queensrÿche.
